Forex trading session

The forex market is a decentralized international market that knows no geographic boundaries and operates round the clock, five days a week.

When one international trade center closes, another international trade center opens. That is, you can trade forex 24/5. There are a number of markets operating concurrently and the highest volume of trading activity usually occurs during this time period as there are more trading opportunities.

As many countries use Daylight Savings Time (DST), market opening and closing hours change in the summer and winter months.

At Forexter, we are watching the US DST (Daylight Savings Time) date. Therefore, DST marks the start of summer and occurs on the second Sunday of March each year. DST ends on the first Sunday of November each year and marks the start of winter.

The table below lists the opening and closing hours of the main international trade sessions for summer and winter. Note that our server time is GMT + 0.
